AGM elects new committee

AGM 13th May 2021




Full minutes of the AGM will be available later. This is just brief summary. Again it was a well-attended Zoom meeting.

The main business was the acknowledgment of the retiring secretary, Dairena Gaffney, after 27 years! We marked this with a virtual presentation of a Staunton Chess set that will be delivered in person in the near future. 

The committee now consists of:-

President - John Larkin (re-elected)

Secretary - Alex Marshall (promoted from Council member)

Treasurer - Richard Hall (re-elected)

Webmaster - Andy Heron (re-elected)

Captain - Larry Kirk (re-elected)

Council - Jim Prentice (re-elected)

Council - Craig Fay

Council - Robert Gibb

Many thanks to Graeme King who stood down from the Council.

It was decided that the re-opening of the club for over the board chess would be gradual. We would not hold an OTB Quickplay in September. It was likely there would be an online Quickplay instead. It was also likely that we would keep some online tournaments during the new season. More later.
