Richardson Cup: Quarter Final

Update Report

Polytechnic, winners of last season's Richardson Cup, were drawn against Cathcart in the quarter-final of this season's competition. The match was, as expected, hard-fought. The highlight was on board 1, where Colin McNab took advantage of an early error by Roddy McKay to mount a devastating sacrificial attack, driving Roddy's king from g1 to b1.

Wins by David Watt, Lewis Brookens, and Jallil Shahin, together with two draws, took the score to 5-3.

Our semi-final opponents will be Phones, surprise winners over Edinburgh and Wandering Dragons.
