Glasgow Polytechnic Chess Club AGM 2018-2019

The minutes of the previous AGM 2017-18 were approved.

Dairena Gaffney gave a report of the events of this season. Ken Stewart's death was a great blow to the club. The Richardson cup was cut short due to dreadful weather in Aberdeen. Police had advised people not to travel.

Glasgow Chess League

Division 1 - Stepps A came first, whilst the Poly A were in seventh position. 10 teams competed.

Division 2 - Renfrewshire came first, whilst the Poly B were in sixth position. 10 teams competed.

Our C and D teams struggled. However, everyone enjoyed the games.

No promotion or relegation.

Dumbarton and District Division 2

Phones came first. Poly Bishops came in a respectful fourth place.

Treasurer's Report

Richard Hall thanked Alastair McIntyre (former treasurer) - in his absence -  for his time, help, and guidance in taking on the role of Treasurer.

Without taking the Quickplay into account, we were £3.60 in surplus. However, in the future, there could be additional expenses - the Richardson Cup, hiring a venue / travel, website costs, updating equipment.
